OUR HISTORY

The Kappa Community Development Corporation, or simply KCDC, was dreamed into existence by members of the Burlington-Camden Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi in the fall of 2002. Since the founding of the chapter in 1968, the Burlington Camden Alumni Chapter made a strong commitment not to simply be a part of the South Jersey fraternal roster, but to make a positive impact on the youth and disadvantaged in the local community. In order to more effectively deliver its programs and initiatives, the brothers decided that a central headquarters would offer stability for the organization and its benefactors.

With the blessings of then- Polemarch Richard Williams, the KCDC’s first Board of Directors was formed. The inaugural officers were Emmett E. Primas, Jr., President, Richard Williams, Vice President, Gino Lewis, Secretary and Curtis Johnson, Jr., Treasurer. The KCDC was incorporated in the State of New Jersey as a charitable organization and was awarded nonprofit status by the United States Internal Revenue Service under 26 U.S.C.A. 501(c)(3).

Since its inception the KCDC continues to support and uplift the community while it seeks suitable property to base its operation.
